I stand on the street, between the Court House entrance and “Eleftherias” [Liberty] square, in the city centre of Volos, handing out a series of cards to passers-by. On the front, the cards feature photographs of wildflowers I encountered while walking the trail “Vasileios Mangos”. On the back, each card has an address and a quote. The cement factory, hospital, police station and courthouse are where the Greek state’s repression forces brutally attacked the protestors and Vasileios Mangos on the 13th and 14th of June 2020, as they demanded an end to ecological plunder and waste burning in the city. Once one has reached those locations, they may recite excerpts from Vasileios’ testimony published from the hospital on social media.
